Snowball Cookies

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 T maple extract (I would use almond extract)
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups mini, semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped almonds, walnuts or pecans
1/4 teaspoon salt
additional powdered or confectioners’ sugar

1.Preheat oven to 350.
2.Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. When soft and creamy, add egg and maple extract. 3.Combine flour and salt in a separate bowl and stir. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture. Mix for one minute. Now, fold in nuts and chips.

4.Roll into small balls and place on un-greased or parchment-lined baking sheets.
5.Bake for 15-20 minutes. Cool slightly and roll in additional confectioner’s sugar twice.

Yields: 3 dozen.

* I got this recipe from pintsizedtreasures I thought that the cookies were ok I was not a fan of the maple extract flavor at all and neither was the family. I would for sure use almond extract instead if I made these again. But its up to you on what you want to try.
